” has Taught us Five Life-changing lesson

One of the highest-grossing  Bengali films Praktan is directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee. The movie is about the mishaps that arise in a relationship. The plot revolves around an architect named Sudipa who travels to Howrah from Mumbai and becomes friends with a loving mother-daughter pair, Malini and Putul. The character of Sudipa is the opposite of Malini's. After becoming friends with Malini and her daughter on the train, Sudipa discovers that Malini is her ex-husband’s current wife. The movie's plot thickens when Ujaan—Sudipa's ex-husband—joins the couple on their train journey and stays up all night talking to them both.

Praktan is an exceptionally well-directed movie that will make you ask questions about your relationships with other people. It went on to do well at the box office because the audience learned many things about life from the movie.

Here are the 5 life-changing lessons that Praktan gifted us:-

Release the Past because Life has to Move On

You may try a lot over the years to hold on to certain things, persons, or memories but ultimately, you have to let your hands loose. Moving on is very important for general happiness. Until you let go of your past, it will be difficult for you to accept many new opportunities and that will lead to an unhappy life. Along with Malini and Ujaan, we also see an old couple – Soumitro and Sabitri, a new couple – Manali and Bishwanath, and a group of musicians. Everyone on this train is trying to let go of their past for a better tomorrow.

Relationship is all about Balance

When you are in a relationship, balancing is the most important key to your happiness. The partnership must be 50:50 and for your part of 50, you must be ready to squeeze your 100%. Maybe in one instance, you are late for your partner’s birthday, so, you should make up for it during your anniversary or the next weekend you get. Just citing excuses of work is never going to help because the other person is giving their best to adjust to you and your life.

You Refine only after your Mistakes

Life never comes with a manual and that’s the best or worst part of it. You are never told that there is a danger if you walk down this path. But once you face that danger, you learn a new lesson. So, every decision that you take is going to refine you. If Ujaan and Sudipa weren’t married to each other – they wouldn’t have been so mature and polished in their new relationships. They learned from their past failed relationships and thus never want to repeat those mistakes.

Don’t Be Judgmental

Every one of us is a different individual with different value systems, dreams, and ambitions in life. Initially, when Sudipa understood that Malini is the wife of Ujaan, she calls up a friend and vents herself out by saying – their backdated family required someone boisterous and down-market like Malini. She shouldn’t have been so judgmental. Later she talks to Malini, understands her way of life, and respects that. It’s normal for our goals, dreams, and behavior to not match with others.

Guard your Self Respect & Dignity at any Cost

No one is going to come ahead and hold your self-respect and dignity for you. You have to guard them at any cost even in front of your special someone. The moment you bow down forgetting your self-respect and dignity, the other person will start taking you for granted. That’s what Ujaan did to Sudipa because she was lenient in the beginning and later when she started to complain things went messy.
