Hindmata- Prison Drama You Shouldn’t Miss

Hindmata is a drama set in prison, before this women-centric drama set in prison was- Posham Pa. The plot is set in a prison, the story first revolves around a fashion designer who is trying to save her business. The series features, Rashi Mal, Trupti Khamkhar, Shruti Jolly, Surbhi Sehgal, Manasi Racch, Shubhangi Lithoria, Naina Sareen, Asif Ali Beg, Kajal Khanchandani, Bharat Bhatia, Shreyas Pardiwalla, Aprajita Bajaj. The series is directed by Shrishti Jayin, it is a hilarious ride but it also talks about the treatment of women in detention centers.

We bring to you another recommendation of the day- Hindmata. Not only have we sorted what you can watch, but we have also sorted where you can watch this series for free online, on the Mzaalo app.

Do you know that Mzaalo is a reward app? You can collect coins here and then redeem them on various brand offers and heavy discounts (what a steal right!).

The main storyline is that the fashion designer needs to make 300 dresses that too within 3 months; trying to set some jugaad she tries to convince the prisoners to help her at a very low cost. The witty take is soon understood by one of the educated prisoners – played by Mansi Racch not to spoil it for you but Rahmi soon becomes a little empathetic and understands the situation of prison habitats. The main content of the series revolves around the relationship between the designer and women in the prison.

The performances are up to the mark as the cast is well thought about. However, Hindmata is one such script that is very well written, thought about but outside of paper when it comes to life it’s not as good. The series is of good intention but not well executed.

The message behind the condition of women in prison is well received, from overcrowding to disregard for sanitary needs. The series uses humor as a technique to highlight the issues, but it fails to do so completely as any episode or every episode mentions the horrors of living inside a prison but it does not dwell upon it much. The series barely touched on the deeper level of these issues. That being said for a web series the story progression is commendable. The concept was unique and it made the whole series a light-hearted watch.

The series fits perfectly into our comedy/lighthearted watch list for the weekend. You can now add this to your watch list along with many other movies, web series, short films to select from. Do you want to know from where? We have found a perfect app for our movie cravings- the Mzaalo app.
